The Chrysalis| MARC FORNES / THEVERYMANY

Upcoming weekend: OPENING AND GROUNDBREAKING

MARC FORNES/THEVERYMANY is pleased to share with you two events this upcoming weekend: an opening celebration for our latest completed project, a permanent structure in Argeles, France, and the groundbreaking ceremony for an amphitheater in Columbia, Maryland. Fornes is a New York-based Art and Architecture specializing in the intersection of unique, spatial experience and structural performance. Its method is deeply rooted in computational research, digital fabrication and explores the dynamic intersection of urban/public space, technology, and the environment.

The Chrysalis – Amphitheater

The Chrysalis Amphitheater — located in the middle of Symphony Woods in Merriweather Park, Columbia, Maryland — will officially break ground in a ceremony this Saturday, September 12th at 10am. The lightweight structure stands out as an icon while blending harmoniously with its environment. It spans over a main performing stage with the capacity to host large events, and also has many shaded balconies, positioned for everyday interaction.
