Innovation Vertical Farming For Future In Bangkok | Apikeairt Charoensuttiyotin

By the year 2050, nearly 80% of the earth’s population will reside in urban centers. Applying the most conservative estimates to current demographic trends, the human population will increase by about 3 billion people during the interim. Therefore it is necessary to grow enough food to feed them, if traditional farming practices continue as they are practiced today. At present, throughout the world, over 80% of the land that is suitable for raising crops is in use. What can be done to avoid this impending disaster? Conceptual design of project is finding the key word of project identity related vertical farming. It is a “plant”, plant is a main important element of project. When researching more will find something interesting, it is a “plant cell structure” and “Parenchyma” which is common for the basic plant cells. Parenchyma has a obvious geometric form called “TRUNCATED OCTAHEDRON”. Truncated octahedron has a element include 8 sided hexagon and 6 sided square, all lines are lines of equal length. Therefore is designed truncated octahedron to modular form (which is inside have a one plant factory tower per one modular) and all shape in this project. Vertical farming is the answer to all this trouble. The project can yield up to 400 tons and can feed one million people per crop, which takes 6-8 weeks. And can earn up to 40 million baht per crop. The project area is only 33,000 sq. m.. Therefore vertical farming in the future, it is most appropriate for the future. Project credits :
