Bicycle Club | NL Architects

Three quarks for Muster Mark and three cheers for quirky architecture. This proposal by NL Architects for a bike club pavilion. The scheme include a large, overreaching, pagoda-like roof, giving much appreciated shade and shelter to bikers and a cafe in the tropical climate of southern China for the newly planned resort by Housing Corporation VANKE.

Okay, nice roof, but what’s more is that the interior corresponding form of the roof creates a velodrome for biking! Steeply inclined riding surfaces create an exciting and fun – the architects say optimistic- experience. In addition, it’s just a well done sculptural mass, floating above open hardscape.
