24 Hour Fitness Founder Unveils Founders Club, a Fitness and Medical Spa Concept

Mark Mastrov, the founder of 24 Hour Fitness, has unveiled Founders Club, a fitness and wellness concept that pairs a large strength training floor with recovery facilities, a medical spa and spaces for working and socialising. The US$10 million (£7.46 million, €8.95 million) club will open in early 2027 at 9200 West Sahara Avenue in Summerlin, Las Vegas. It marks the first public look at what Mastrov plans to build after his return to the industry.

Mastrov and the 24 Hour Fitness team designed the 45,000sq ft (4,181sq m) facility, which will operate around the clock. Pre-opening memberships will cost US$59.99 to US$99.99 (£44.77 to £74.62, €53.70 to €89.50) a month, although the company has not yet said which services each tier includes. Registration for Founders memberships begins in November 2026, and priority access is available through FoundersClub24.com.

Strength training takes the largest share of the floor plan, with 25,000sq ft (2,323sq m) devoted to it. Dedicated functional training and glute training areas sit alongside it, and a separate group exercise space will host Pilates, yoga, Zumba and Les Mills Bodypump. This weighting toward lifting, rather than rows of cardio machines, shapes the whole layout of the club.

Recovery receives equally serious investment, because more than US$1 million (£746,000, €895,000) is being allocated to recovery equipment alone. The recovery lounge will include hyperbaric chambers, red light saunas, massage chairs, pelvic chairs and wave chairs for cold therapy, while a sauna and a cold room are planned elsewhere in the building. A separate medical spa will offer IV therapy, which brings a clinical service into a space that members also use for training.

The social side of the club is built around a juice bar, a café and a DJ booth, so members can stay beyond their workout. Hosted activities will include run clubs, morning coffee sessions and recovery nights. Mastrov said the project draws on his experience of building gyms and his emphasis on personal relationships with members. “Every detail reflects what I’ve learned about what members are actually looking for today,” he said.

The announcement follows Mastrov’s acquisition of 24 Hour Fitness with LongRange Capital in January 2026, and he now serves as executive chair and interim CEO. In an HCM interview earlier this year with editor Liz Terry, he outlined plans to expand the business, upgrade existing clubs and introduce more recovery amenities and Pilates. He also identified opportunities to rebuild ancillary revenues through personal training, nutrition, foodservice and retail, while improving retention by giving members more reasons to use the clubs.

Founders Club will not open alone in Summerlin, since Mark Wahlberg’s Municipal Gym, developed with the leadership team behind EōS Fitness, is also due in early 2027. Its first location, at Downtown Summerlin, will combine strength training with recovery facilities, spa amenities and a café. The announcement does not specify plans for further Founders Club locations.
