Once again we see in art the line between creating something beautiful and grotesque sparsely being drawn. To digitally create a microscopic world, running parallel to what we know regarding cellular and biological occurrences, as realistically as Lorenzo Oggiano does, highlights the imitation of it all. Needless to say, these studies are dependent on truths, despite how they may appear, which only adds to the disgust of it all, in an intriguing way of course. The “Quasi Objects” series was informed based on natural laws and evolution as a way to practice what Lorenzo Oggiano defines as “organic re-design”.
