The Gravity Stool designed by Jólan Van Der Wiel, are objects which seem to defy our entrenched perceptions of which forces rule the world we live in. Gravity is, for us, the force that controls and determines how things go.

Magnetism is usually somewhat of a novelty- unless you’re riding a maglev train. Through the use of plastics mixed with iron filings and a purpose built ‘gravity tool’, these amazing stool are created.
Strong magnets pull the iron impregnated plastics upwards, defying gravity as the mechanism is worked, creating really, magnificent, instinct defying forms.
