Do you like it ?.. I don’t !! Leaf Tie | Tsunho Wang

With the world constantly changing and new technologies emerging left and right where does that leave nature? It is not surprising to walk down a road and pay no attention to the plants growing there. It’s natural and thus has no impact on our thoughts. But if someone walks by an electrical station and sees a tree growing in the center, that would surely turn their head because it is out of context. The Leaf Tie strives to bring an unexpected relief to the mechanical and artificial components we see every day. By doing so Tsunho Wang wanted to promote awareness to the issue of “Green Environment & Safe Earth”.

However since the Leaf Tie is plastic and is merely imitating nature, it cannot produce the same effects as an actual plant. Instead it draws attention to the object it is secured to that might have gone unnoticed before. Constantin Brancusi once said, “What is real is not the external form, but the essence of things… it is impossible for anyone to express anything essentially real by imitating its exterior surface.” No matter how hard we try to replace nature and attempt to artificially make it to expose to more people, it will never be the same when we focus solely on its appearance.
