It is the first approved building by New York City that creates a mixed-use building in a long-abandoned site along the river.

The all black building by Richard Meier is meant to be a landmark in the skies of Manhattan and reflects an innovative design that is iconic, transparent and minimal. The design aims to achieve urban public activity within visitors by offering shops, commercial services and shared spaces for residents.“It’s style brings the open-layout feel of converted downtown industrial spaces uptown.” mentioned Richard Meier and architects.
