Qatar unveils a new 60,000-seater Stadium

The Al Bayt stadium in Al Khor City follows the Al Wakrah stadium near Doha in being confirmed as one of 10 new venues being built for the tournament in eight years’ time.

According top the Gulf times “Good progress is being made in the preliminary preparations for the construction of the stadium, which is expected to be completed in 2018 to host a number of World Cup 2022 matches. The stadium’s design features purely Qatari idea reflecting the character of the heritage nature and artistic touch of Qatar on this amazing future edifice.”

Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General of Qatar’s Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, said: “The launch of Al Bayt Stadium & Precinct, the second proposed stadium for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, is another milestone of progress.
