Nestled at the entrance of the Flamingo Dai Lai Resort, Forest In The Sky, a property owned by the Flamingo Holding Group, commands a panoramic view of the vast 123-hectare eco-resort, enveloped by the majestic Tam Dao Mountain. Its strategic location, a mere 15 kilometers from Noi Bai Airport, transforms this rural commune into a sought-after destination for both domestic and international tourists in Vietnam. Despite limited access to advanced technology and equipment, the design ingeniously maximizes available resources and champions local craftsmanship. This approach fosters employment opportunities for the local community and contributes to the long-term betterment of the lives of the region’s farmers.

The captivating “Forest in The Sky ” is an outstanding element of the Flamingo Dai Lai Resort,” where all four sides of the Flamingo Dai Lai Resort are adorned with lush greenery. Drawing inspiration from vertical forest architecture, this green “jungle” structure has been intricately planned to host an impressive collection of over 75,000 plants. These botanical treasures include a variety of shrubs, vines, vibrant flowers, and even sizable trees with substantial trunks.
They cascade from irregularly positioned balconies, gracefully scaling the building’s towering sides, reaching heights of up to 100 meters, and giving life to 188 Babylon hanging gardens. This 11-story architectural marvel encompasses 181 sky villas, each adorned with opulent interiors and a comprehensive array of premium services and entertainment offerings.

Flamingo Dai Lai Resort’s Building Materials

The construction process harmoniously integrates state-of-the-art technologies with locally sourced materials to pioneer a novel benchmark in sustainable and eco-friendly architecture. Notably, adobe brick, comprising a blend of cement powder, wood pulp, and eco-friendly cellular lightweight concrete blocks, has been extensively employed. These materials are sourced locally and demonstrate a reduced environmental footprint. Additionally, the Flamingo Dai Lai Resort adopts other eco-conscious measures, such as utilizing native wood for interior elements and producing concrete directly on-site.

The Flamingo Dai Lai Resort incorporates a range of energy-saving innovations, including automatic ventilation, energy-efficient VRV air-conditioning, inductive LED lighting, solar energy utilization, and heat pump systems. Moreover, Forest in The Sky employs laminated/tempered glass systems for roof and wall glazing to optimize natural daylight, reducing the reliance on electric lighting during daylight hours. Energy conservation is further enhanced by minimizing the wall-window ratio, applying reflective paint to exterior walls, and insulating roofs and exterior walls.
The wastewater treatment system ensures that 100% of domestic wastewater is treated and repurposed for irrigation and toilet flushing, nurturing the surrounding greenery. Thanks to these sustainability initiatives, the building has been awarded EDGE Advanced, a prestigious green building certification, showcasing its remarkable achievements in reducing energy consumption by 42%, water usage by 22%, and construction materials by 36%, solidifying its global reputation as an exemplary green landmark both inside and out.

Forest In the Sky represents an integrated ecosystem where apartments, greenery, land, and wildlife coexist harmoniously. Through the innovative vertical and stepped space integration approach, additional room is allocated for tree planting, facilitating the creation of ventilation apertures and offering diverse viewpoints throughout the building. This holistic synergy results in a vibrant, well-ventilated space that harnesses solar radiation solutions.

Each balcony is meticulously adorned with lush foliage, complemented by bamboo flooring and expansive glass walls. The Flamingo Dai Lai Resort welcomes abundant sunlight and refreshing outdoor air and blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor realms. The Flamingo Dai Lai Resort’s primary objective is to cultivate a serene and harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. The aspiration is to craft a luxurious yet inviting resort environment that embodies a green architectural paradigm inspired by traditional Vietnamese villages.
