Alright listen to these specks. Ø-240km/h in 4.9 seconds. Sharpest turn is 70º. Track length- 2.07 km. According to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi’s website, it is the world’s fastest roller coaster. So there, now you know what this place is sorta about. It’s got some unbelievably enjoyable sounding rides; a flume, 4D simulators with authentic extremes in temperature, moisture, light and movement, tours of authentic pit experiences and through an assembly line to see how a car is built.

And by the way, evidently this was previously only something that Ferrari owners were extended the invitation to see; how the car was built. So the place is no joke. And it’s all indoors. Ahhh, indoors. So there’s a building. Yes, and it’s a triaxial form of the iconic Ferrari colours, inspired by the iconic double contour of the Ferrari GT chassis which was designed by Benoy and opened in December 2010. The building in plan is, a bit reminiscent of a Cylon Basestar.

But that’s only a privileged view afforded those who fly over it. From ground level, it is an abstracted checker facade overhung by a sweeping metal skinned roof of fluid curving lines. The roof is highly insulated and the glass used has high thermal specs, both qualities are of course to act in the reduction of thermal loads and glare on this indoor theme park, located in an emirate of roughly 93% desert. So let’s cover that all again. World class theme park located within an equally world class building; fastest roller coaster in the world.
