VidantaWorld Opens Previews of BON Theme Park at Its Nuevo Nayarit Resort

VidantaWorld has begun a phased preview of BON, its new theme park at the Vallarta, Nuevo Nayarit resort in Mexico. The preview started on 24 October and is currently limited to resort guests, who can buy tickets subject to availability. The public opening of the BON theme park is planned for April 2027, and the company puts the total investment at approximately US$1.5 billion (€1.34 billion, £1.12 billion).

The park departs from the usual theme park formula because it draws on Mexican landscapes, mythology and original characters rather than licensed intellectual property. It is also designed as an evening park with limited nightly capacity, which the company says is meant to give visitors more space and a more relaxed pace. Vidanta describes BON as the “world’s first luxury theme park”, and it places hospitality, dining and space at the center of the experience alongside rides and shows.

Executive vice-president Ivan Chávez says the aim is to combine the excitement of a theme park with “the space, comfort, service and hospitality of a luxury destination”. That idea extends to the wider offer at the resort, where the resident Cirque du Soleil production LUDÕ forms part of the program. The aquatic dinner show features more than 40 artists from over 20 countries, so entertainment and dining share a single evening.

Vidanta announced 14 attractions for this first phase, and more will follow as the park continues to open. The company says the completed park will have more than 20 attractions across all seven worlds. Two rides lead the first phase: The Rise of Soluma, a suspended coaster created by Vekoma, and Floresta Drop, a drop ride built by Intamin.

The Rise of Soluma is 372m long, reaches 20m in height and has a top speed of 54km/h. Floresta Drop lifts riders 40m above the treetops before its descent. Both rides sit among the themed worlds that Vidanta has built around the Mexican setting, so the guest experience is tied closely to the surrounding terrain and its mythology.

The preview is the first step in a gradual rollout of the VidantaWorld theme park. Vidanta says new attractions and experiences will be introduced over the coming months, and all seven themed worlds are expected to open progressively through December 2027.
