Hand Cut Paper Art Lisa Rodden

The hand cut artwork is by the paper artist Lisa Rodden. She’s an Australian artist who uses her crafting ability in cutting, slicing and folding to produce beautiful art.

The process she takes in producing such work involves having two overlapping layers. The bottom layer is the painting layer, painted using acrylic, with white paper being used as the top layer.

This form of working closely resembles the 2 and a half D approach. The idea of representing something as 3D, when its essence remains 2D, is the basic concept. The works produced emphasizes her care, attention to detail and concentration, as these are required qualities needed in producing work as this standard.
