The World’s First Solar-Powered Family Car | Solar Team Eindhoven

Stella is the name of the world’s first solar-powered family car. Designed by students at the Eindhoven University of Technology in Australia, the wingless vehicle has been progressed to take part in the new Cruiser Class category in the World Solar Challenge.

Stella can seat four people and can cover up to 600 kilometers, all powered by solar panels mounted on the roof.

“Since the Solar Team Eindhoven wants to contribute to the development of a car of the future, the design demands more than just a focus on speed,” the team adds. “Comfort, ease of use, and feasibility are all key terms.”
