Peugeot Airbus H160 Design

Peugeot Airbus

Airbus H160 designed with the assistance of automaker Peugeot’s Design Lab was presented to the world in the 2015 Dubai Airshow. Its design was birthed after the Design Lab team won an in-house competition launched by airbus where the final design aimed at creating a helicopter that would be both pretty and functional. True to their aim, the H160 looks really beautiful and promises to be useful for engineering services (such as an offshore drilling platform resupply), civil duty by the police (for interceptor duty), leisure services (as a means of transportation between leisure activity venues like parties), and for commuting. In an official release by Guillaume Chielens, head of style and design at airbus helicopters he stated “we used the initial styling developed by Peugeot Design Lab to define a strong personality for the rotorcraft—a mirror reflection of the innovations, performance, and emotion unique to the H160. we developed a helicopter based on their design which immediately caught the attention of both operators and the general public. the style has become a key priority for the H160 program, which aims to make a strong impression both with its unique personality and its performance.” It features a fully composite airframe, tapered windows, canted tail rotor blades with a boomerang end profile to reduce noise, and improve stability. It is also said to be the first commercial helicopter to have electrically operated landing gear. It looks really beautiful and I look forward to it being in full operation in the next few years.
