Scott Bendall the co-founder and creative director of “La Boca” have designed numerous projects and posters that are now featured on many artists’ works as well as other key events. One of their artworks have become Bombay Bicycle Club’s newest album cover and another the poster for the 2014 British Academy Awards.
La Boca’s works are emphasized with such vibrant contrasting bold colors that are presented with a psychedelic vibe that automatically places you within a historical time frame. It uses symmetrical, geometrical, repetitive patterns and illustration techniques of the ” Art Deco” period.
Scott Bendall also states in an interview with designboom that the difference between illustration and art; “our illustration work is always created with an audience in mind. It’s designed to connect with someone and express something to them, in most of the projects we undertake, la Boca doesn’t matter at all, we’re not important.
I see art as being a much more personal endeavor. The work is more self-expressive, and the artist themselves are key to the work”. Seen throughout their work are rich examples and values of how to engage viewers as well as enhance their overall experience through subliminal graphic illustration.

Born and raised in Ukraine, she holds a Master’s degree in Languages from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Her deep passion for architecture and visual storytelling led her to transition from translation and editorial roles into the world of design media. With a keen eye for conceptual clarity and narrative structure, Anastasia curates and presents global architectural projects with precision and flair. She is particularly drawn to parametric and digital design, cultural context, and emerging voices in architecture. When I’m not analyzing the latest architectural trends, you’ll probably find me searching for hidden gems in cityscapes or appreciating the beauty of well-crafted spaces. After all, great design—like great connections—can be found in the most unexpected places. Speaking of connections, because architecture isn’t the only thing that brings people together.
