According to a press release handed out through email, the New York division of The American Institute of Architects has revealed the 18 recipients of the 2023 AIA New York Design Award for projects and the architectural firms that created them showcase the extraordinary work by AIA New York members and architects operating in New York City.
While most of the winning projects are located inside New York State, this year’s crop of innovators includes two foreign and six domestic initiatives from other parts of the United States.

According to the same press release, a five-member jury this year chose the winning projects for the AIA New York Design Award, each of which was finished “by AIANY members or architects/designers working in New York, or be New York projects developed by architects/designers based elsewhere.
” Ronnie Belizaire, JLL; Gia Biagi, Chicago Department of Transportation; Angela Brooks, FAIA, Brooks + Scarpa; Nondita Correa Mehrotra, RMA Architects, and the Charles Correa Foundation; and Ashley Rao, AIA, Leers Weinzapfel Associates formed the jury for the 2023 AIA New York design award.
