Vertex Collection | Karim Rashid

Vertex Collection, among its collection of post-modernist furniture, Vondo features a tectonic set of table and chairs designed by Karim Rashid. These pieces are molded to provide us with a different approach of the conceptual furniture experience. Although Karim Rashid favors the use of sensual curves, he dismissed the curvy habit in this set in favor of the vivid geometry, maintaining his preferable bright colors. The collection is a clear presentation of the goals of his manifesto: …My real desire is to see people live in the modus of our time, to participate in the contemporary world, and to release themselves from nostalgia, antiquated traditions, old rituals, kitsch and the meaningless.

” The pieces are rotationally forged using a material that is 100% recyclable, leaving almost no carbon fingerprint over the environment. Yet with the set’s structural style, it looks as if it were sculptured of one piece of that very material. VONDOM, the retailer and manufacturer of the piece, is an international furniture provider that emphasizes the role of avant grade architecture and design, taking it one-step closer to becoming a mainstream trend. It describes Rashid as “one of the most prolific designers of his generation”, with over 3000 design in production, and more than 300 awards and projects worldwide.
