The Parisian Green Cubic Installation | Sou Fojimoto

The Parisian Green Cubic Installation, the Japanese architect Sou Fojimoto has designed and installed in Paris Jardins a magnificent assembly of aluminum cubes for the FIAC art exhibition. The Parisian Green Cubic Installation features stacked boxes of different sizes connected to each other either by one edge or one corner. The aluminum cubes are planted either by plants or small trees and they together form a structure that have random openings on the Tuileries Park. The floating masses of these cubes create a new experience of space, a rhythm of flickering shadows and lights, as being under the trees.

The whole structure forms one unified element in which the position of each cube and each tree participates to the overall balance and stability .The void in the hub of the structure is considered as the living area and the formal entrances are at either side of the structure. The structure is intended to represent a nomadic house and serve partly as an architectural intervention and partly as a sculpture.
