Cleveland walk in the park | Eventscape

The chosen landscape architects, who are chosen every two years to create an installation for the Cleveland Public Art Park, created a futuristic installation that looks like an alien. Eventscape designed these installations, which is a design firm in Toronto, Canada.

The idea of these installations was to celebrate the industrial history of Cleveland and its new “green” environment.  Steel forms were fabricated to represent the cities historic steel industry and the fabric that covers these structures is the represented part of their new “green” environmental policy.

Every component of the structure required integrated solar panels that would provide a luminous glow to the fabric of the structure if seen at night.

The fabric skin of the installation was green to match the clients of Cleveland “green” color and the designers created a coat to provide it with the water repellant and UV protection abilities.

After all, great design—like great connections—can be found in the most unexpected places. Speaking of connections, because architecture isn’t the only thing that brings people together.
