New Documentary to Feature Zaha Hadid’s 1000 Museum among World’s “Impossible Builds”

It has been revealed that the Zaha Hadid’s under construction high-rise, 1000 Museum in Miami, will be featured on a documentary. The documentary which will be showing on Discovery and PBS is titled “Impossible Builds”, and it will present worldwide buildings with extraordinary structures. Besides Zaha Hadid’s tower in Florida, the documentary will also feature an extra thin skyscraper in New York and a villa resort in Dubai. The reason why One Thousand museum was deemed “Impossible” by the documentary makers is its exoskeleton which utilizes thousands of pieces of glass fiber-reinforced concrete, giving the tower a unique and futuristic character.

“It is an honor for the project to be spotlighted in this important documentary film,” said Louis Birdman, one of the co-developers for One Thousand Museum by Zaha Hadid Architects. “We could not think of a better way to immortalize the forward-thinking project to a global audience across continents through this important documentary.”

Hadid’s super luxury condominium tower has currently reached its 38th floor out of 62, and it is expected to top out by the end of 2017. The tower’s design was first revealed in 2013, and it was considered the late architect’s first high-rise project in the Western hemisphere. It was designed to house 83 condo units, business and entertainment facilities, as well as a rooftop helipad. The tower is expected to rise as downtown Miami’s outstanding landmark when it opens in 2018.
