One of my favourite movies growing up was The Swiss Family Robinson. I always though what a cool, not too hard idea and feat it would be to actually do it. I mean could you imagine having a house full of Rube Goldbergs and other simple machines that perform household functions? It would be the best.
Phytopia, the M.Arch thesis of Pablo Zunzunegui at UC Berkeley, is such a proposition- well, maybe with a bit more technology, but the living-amongst-the-trees thing, all the way. And being his thesis, I am not going to describe any more of it. Take it away, Pablo!
