Pont De Bondy Metro Station | BIG + Silvio d’Ascia Architecture
Pont De Bondy, Bjarke Ingels Group won the metro extension design competition in Paris. BIG architects collaborated with French Studio Silvio d’Ascia Architecture to design one of the sums of “emblematic stations” proposed. The nine proposals include BIG, Kengo Kuma and Miralles Tagliabue who will work on a 75-kilometer long railway consisting of 3 different parts ; Line 15 South, Line 15 West, and Line 15 East.
The new Paris metro extension will extend to about 200 kilometers beyond the already existing one. Part of this extension is the station designed by BIG and Silvio d’Ascia Architecture ; “Pont de Bondy”.The station will be part of “line 15” that is passing around Paris outskirts. It consists of a Brown-colored building with a shaded passageway and having two right-angled extensions. Both extensions have different qualities as one of them passes under a bridge while the other passes over a water body.
Regarding this Line 15 :
Grimshaw architects are designing the Marie d’Aubervilliers and Fort d’Aubervilliers stations and studio Bordas + Peiro will be responsible for the Stade de France station. Paris practice Brenac-Gonzalez & Associates will design two stations – Bobigny and Bobigny Pablo-Picasso – and fellow Paris-based architects Scape/Offscape will do the plans for Bondy station.
Marseille studio Vezzoni and Associés are designing the Rosny Bois Perrier station, and French firm Explorations Architecture will design the Val de Fontenay and Nogent le Perreux stations. Nowadays, the Grand Paris Express is being worked on by 37 architectural teams to add 68 stations. With 2030, as the year announced the expected opening.
