The ways are limitless to get creative with pen drawings, especially when it comes to architecture—you can actually make your drawings glow! One of the most creative pieces out there is this series of sci-fi pen drawings imagining the imaginary world of future cities; dense, gloomy, and monumental! South Korean concept artist Jae Cheol Park, also known as Paperblue, draws monochromatic hand sketches of futuristic cities which mystery will capture your eyes right away!
The perspectives vary when it comes to the point of view, some are drawn with a bird’s eye view and others with a human being’s view, however, they all look like layers and layers of buildings are stacked over one another with a sense of both chaos and strictness.
In his incredible pen drawings, Jae Cheol Park adds elements to complete the sci-fi mood. Cranes and perilous-looking scaffolding may be seen on the sides of castles, towers, and boxy buildings, implying that the hazardous, Jenga-like towers are still being built. Some of the photographs depict massive vehicles being built, such as battleships and cruisers with canons. Traditional Korean-style roofs may be found among the mysterious doors and arches, a homage to Park’s background and a foreshadowing of a not-too-distant future that is still linked to the past.
