Zaha Hadid Displays ‘Pulse’ at Maison & Objet

French trade fair for interior design and architecture, Maison & Objet, has opened on the 19th of January 2018 and will be wrapping up today. The fair has hosted a myriad of design creations and the great minds behind them, including Zaha Hadid.

The celebrity architect has set her own design brand ‘Zaha Hadid Design’ in 2006, which greatly depended on using advanced technologies as well as materials. ‘Zaha Hadid Design’ encompasses a wide variety of design categories like jewelry, accessories, and even some furniture pieces. Nearly all the produced pieces show Hadid’s distinct fingerprint in design which focuses on undulating lines and smooth geometrics.

‘Pulse’, which is a glassware collection that composes a part of the design line’s 2018 collection, was displayed at the Parisian exhibition.

Zaha Hadid once commented on her exhibition at New York’s Guggenheim and said: ‘my product designs and architecture have always been connected; some of our earliest projects were designs for products and interiors. these design pieces are very important to me and my team. they inspire our creativity by providing an opportunity to express our ideas through different scales and through different media; an essential part of our ongoing design investigation.’

The ‘Pulse’ collection showcases vases and containers of various colors and sizes, all based on a single wavy theme, contrasting the smoothness of glass. The vividly-colored glass pieces, that feature partially-rippled surfaces, were blown by hand which was a real challenge.
