The Strata Tower designed by Asymptote Architecture is a forty story, luxury residential building located at Al Dana precinct of Abu Dhabi, which is currently under construction. Standing at 160 meters, the tower with its innovative louvered structural frame-shell will serve as a new landmark tower for the precinct’s skyline. The tower’s swooping, torqued form grows slightly more slender as it rises up to a helicopter pad which grows organically from the form and a ‘cap which terminates in parts rather than the typical ‘lopping-off’ which occurs in many high-rises. Within, the spaces are distinctly organic and curvilinear in character. The only slight letdown are the columns visible in the atrium. They are a little too ‘stock’ for the rest of the building’s unique character.
