Ohh, very clever. And it’s one of those “clever’s” where you just kick yourself for not thinking of it first. The Shadow Collection by Duffy London, is pretty great. The base, an integral part to the chairs’ cantilevered structure is a flat piece of plate steel, coloured black.

This base becomes an unwavering, never ceasing shadow for a chair which seems to stand impossibly on two legs. Oh and there’s not just one shadow type, there are many, and some of them are pretty eccentric- perfect for eccentric collectors.
