While most interior designs for retail stores must cope with a limited amount of space, the Runway Store in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam seems to have the opposite problem.
The enormous space for the limited number of product needed a proposal that promoted continuous movement throughout the store and retained its uniqueness without detracting from the displayed goods.
CLS Architetti responded with a design inspired by an ice cave with surfaces and niches generated through subtraction and extrusion.
The resultant interior is composed of a series of 298 sectioned panels that form an undulating surface onto the ceiling and walls.
Its stark coloration is contrasted with a large cocoon-shaped VIP room that is covered in mirrored tiles. The furnishings assigned give the interior an appearance of eclecticism without detracting from the store’s product appearance.
