Rotating chair, the amazing Korean artist Jeon Kyung Ok succeeded in realizing the stability of his designed chair in a creative way that’s based on repetition and revolving. Here, the relationship between the structure and the form is so intimate.
The two aspects become almost one. That’s what makes the form has a strong concept. The creative and simple idea of repeating a rectangle frame in a way like there’s a pivot controlling the rotation angle creates the organic shape that allows people to sit on.
The chair now is seen as a piece of sculpture not just an ordinary chair. Also, the visual relationship it creates at the side view is definitely interesting as you can see through the depth of the whole that’s framed by the frames. At the back view, it could be seen as a twisted wall. Each view creates an interesting scenario which proves that great things come when elements come together .It’s not about complexity of the unit, it’s about the integration of the units together to form one complex thing.

She is particularly drawn to parametric and digital design, cultural context, and emerging voices in architecture. When I’m not analyzing the latest architectural trends, you’ll probably find me searching for hidden gems in cityscapes or appreciating the beauty of well-crafted spaces. After all, great design—like great connections—can be found in the most unexpected places. Speaking of connections, because architecture isn’t the only thing that brings people together.
