Roof of ‘Bird’s Nest’ falling? No, it’s a new design !

Bird’s Nest, the National Stadium, commonly known as the ‘Bird’s Nest’, was suspected of being damaged by heavy rain as pictures went viral online on Tuesday showing some white debris extending from the stadium’s ceiling all the way to the audience seats.

Amid alleged blames for the low quality of the structure, China News quoted employees from the stadium as saying on Wednesday that the white objects are actually new designs – a decorative prop, to welcome the opening ceremony of the IAAF World Championships in August.
