Polymer Flower Sculpture and Tiles | Angela Schwer

Flower Sculpture

Angela Schwer, a beautiful and industrious family woman and mother, uses polymer clay (which essentially is a polyvinyl chloride plastic that is malleable and can be moulded to any desired shape, and cured to attain strength) as her tool to create stunning Flower Sculptures and Tiles.

Angela Schwer started working with Polymer clay just to keep busy. But true to the wise words of my editor Chang Delia “great things come from the random”, the clay had an entirely different story to tell. And today, Angela Schwer now runs a shop on Etsy called DillyPad (“created and inspired by my two little lovebugs, Davis and Lily (Dilly)”) where she sells her beautiful pieces which range from one piece wall sculptures to large sculptures which can span the entire surfaces of walls.

In an interview by Regina Connell (Edited by Regina Sarnicol and Posted in Box 1, Heroes and Heroines, SURFACES on June 10, 2012), talks about her process revealed that Angela Schwer uses two different blends of polymer clay to get a mixture which had the appropriate strength and durability for her pieces. Though her hands are her primary sculpting tool, she uses other items like her kids toys or any other random tool she finds around.

If you ever desire to make your walls alive and vibrant, do not hesitate to visit her store on Etsy

How this young woman manages to create such beautiful pieces while being a devoted mother and wife is a wonder, and should be an inspiration to women the world over.

So yea, cheers to Angela Schwer (and all other industrious women)!! They are the real life picture of “Wonder Woman”.
