Poetry Paints a Picture | Jamie Poole

Collaging- the universally accessible art form in which success is far from universally achieved. The UK artist Jamie Poole, takes the technique and makes it appear easy. With incredible scope (each work is several feet and height and breadth) and attention to detail- this series of portraits, executed on the side of working as a landscape painter and art teacher, are poetic.

That’s a pun without an introduction. The beautiful lines and shadows are formed from poetry, broken down into individual words and phrases. These are collaged together to create hybrid, multi-layered (theoretically and physically) works of typography and portraiture.
