NIKE floats aero-static dome | Miniwiz, Arthur Huang
aero-static dome, Milan design week 2014, NIKE in reciprocally cooperation with Taiwanese founder of Miniwiz, Arthur Huang forwards the “aero-static dome” which is considered as a monumental pavilion towering over the city’s palazzo Clerici, constituting simultaneously the masterpiece for the world premier of the Kobe 9 elite low HTM.
The visual outcome for the solid, floating framework is astoundingly galvanized by the Flyknit technology. The designer’s prime inspiration was the power of aerodynamics of Leonardo da vinci’s triangular parachute & Alexander graham bell’s tetrahedral kite, the floating design that not only transmits strength & wind resistance, but is supported only by vertical buoyancy.
This innovative technique literally comprises yarns and fabric variations that are highly manufactured with precise minutiae. They are explicitly appropriate for lightweight, formfitting, virtually seamless upper and augmented sustainability. As far as the construction is concerned the mesh knitting is incessant attached and becomes a mainstay for a massive, metallic, inflated form above.
At its basic platform, nine glass capsules support the harmonious aerial geometry, each single one contains the new exclusive enclosed NIKE shoe.

Anastasia Andreieva is an accomplished Architectural Projects Editor at Arch2O, bringing a unique blend of linguistic expertise and design enthusiasm to the team. Born and raised in Ukraine, she holds a Master’s degree in Languages from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Her deep passion for architecture and visual storytelling led her to transition from translation and editorial roles into the world of design media. With a keen eye for conceptual clarity and narrative structure, Anastasia curates and presents global architectural projects with precision and flair. She is particularly drawn to parametric and digital design, cultural context, and emerging voices in architecture. When I’m not analyzing the latest architectural trends, you’ll probably find me searching for hidden gems in cityscapes or appreciating the beauty of well-crafted spaces. After all, great design—like great connections—can be found in the most unexpected places. Speaking of connections, because architecture isn’t the only thing that brings people together.
