New Mixed-Use Project in China’s Nansha Kingboard Free Trade Zone by AEDAS

International Architecture Firm AEDAS has released the plans for Nansha Kingboard Free Trade Zone mixed-use building in Guangzhou, China. It will be located on an irregular-shaped plot at the starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road, viewing the Jiaoman River and Phoenix Lake. The total area of the building amounts to 80,762sqm, and it will be comprised of stacked blocks with slightly various forms and orientations to create diverse silhouettes and optimize the view of the surroundings.

The building is composed of two separate masses of different heights. They are based on a podium and bridged by a third mass right above the lower of the two masses. The complex form is enveloped in a simple repetitive skin of glass and horizontal fins for shading for per each floor. The project is expected to be finished by 2020.
