Love Project …..Art, experiment, digital, science, everything comes together in the latest project from ESTUDIO GUTO REQUENA in collaboration with D3 entitled Love Experiment – Experiment 2. This operation aimed to transform users into direct manipulators of the artwork, through the use of computer brain scanning and 3D Printing.
For 2 days, the public was invited to tell their own love stories, while connected to sensors that scanned their brainwaves, heartbeats, and voices and as they narrated, the data was transformed into unique mandalas. Each printed item was offered to the user who basically created it, while the other users were able to see the art being generated in real time.
By bringing memories to life, the experiment resulted in 53 unique objects, each object with its own love story. This approach not only is a manifesto towards the individualism, but to how much our own take to things can shape the world around us. Although the objects were not usable, similar to the previous experiment by the same studio, when the stories were transformed into everyday objects, the user impact is just as powerful.
