Le Tronc Creux (French) literally means the hollow trunk, and evidently this shelter is a hollow log lying around.
This urban community of Bordeaux financed project seeks to provide close by shelter on a hiking trail which runs across Bordeaux, connecting, waste lands, parks and forests.
Designed by Bruit du Frigo and constructed by zébra3/buy-sellf, these large logs are meant to provide short holiday shelters within the city. They are made of wood and have cut out windows around. Smaller blocks of black wood are nailed all around probably to depict buds. They add to the overall aesthetic of the shelter but also play the function of supports so the log does not roll off!!
On the interior, bedding is provided for a maximum of 9 people, no lights and water, just the elements family and friends. What an interesting way to disconnect and reconnect with nature and family!!
