Kneeling Woman | Phil Nolan

Kneeling Woman | Phil Nolan
Perhaps inspired by the original Kneeling Woman sculpture by Wilhelm  Lehmbruck of 1911 cast in bronze currently on exposition in the Lehmbuck museum, Duisburg, Phil Nolan started several explorations in 3d printing of his own versions of the famous sculpture.

The first exploration had the woman in almost the same posture as the original albeit with a raised arm. This version which is now on sale online at Shapeways.com has the woman in sitting posture.

3D printed to a height of 8 inches the body is composed of vines that give this fluid ,tender nature. Phil says the height was chosen to meet the required thickness of the vines. It has been listed as one of the Staff Picks at Sketchfab.com.
