HDT-01 | Number One

HDT-01, holographic displays might not be so far away in the future, as Number One team has presented their first monitor that has a 4 mm transparent acrylic display. The new invention has a static stand that incorporates a LED-projector, in addition to everything a usual monitor has.

The display acts like a surface projection and is coated with a special foil that is able to capture the light. With an aspect ration of 16:9 and a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, the 27 inches surface was inspired by the “old, large and big rear projection TV”. The positioning angle was carefully calculated by the engineering team in order to offer the best user experience, hence one doesn’t have to adjust anything. This would be the first step towards a completely immaterial “projection surface” – “an intermediate step on the way to holography”.
