The Head of Studio at Foster + Partners, David Summerfield, remarked, “We are thrilled to have created a vertiport concept for the emerging AAM sector, which will change how people travel in Dubai. Global and local travelers will benefit from the proposed vertiport’s connection to Dubai International Airport and the Dubai Metro.”

Skyports Infrastructure and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority are presently looking at four potential sites, with the DXB vertiport being one of them. (RTA). The locations are planned for a future eVTOL connectivity system to link Dubai’s most visited and densely populated regions and allow for fast, emission-free transportation. The RTA’s Dubai Metro system and Dubai International Airport will both be incorporated into the vertiport network.

The Dubai Vertiport terminal is perched on a pier that rises above the runway, making it easier for planes to take off and land. The terminal’s circular design provides passengers with breathtaking vistas of the airport and the surrounding city from both the arrival and departure areas. The roof’s slope and the façade’s slant shield the structure from the sun’s rays, keeping the interior cool.

The Dubai Vertiport terminal’s façade is in harmony with the nearby subway station, and greenery buffers the structure’s sharp corners. The interiors have been created with a sophisticated color scheme of comfortable, organic materials to create a relaxing atmosphere. By 2026, the RTA and Skyports Infrastructure hope to have completed the construction of a network of vertiports to accommodate air transportation services.
