Form Follow | Daan Mulder
Form may follow function but in this sofa design, form follows line, leading to function. Form Follow, designed by Daan Mulder, is a sofa/seating aparatus constructed of laser-cut steel plates. After precision cutting, the plates are bent and welded together to create three faces which become a continuous, self-feeding line. I will note one little thing that I see, which could be a problem. There seems to be a lack of actual seat. I got all the structure- this thing could hold even the heftiest american. But where they would sit eludes me. Perhaps it is only for very heavy people, who wouldn’t be able to fall through the hole in the middle? But now I am only bantering tongue-in-cheek.
