Daniel Liebskind on the Complicated Beauty of New York City
Daniel Liebskind was born in Poland, but he immigrated to New York when he was 13. He fell in love with the non-typical nature of the city. He witnessed the rise and fall of the World Trade Center. His passion for the place got him the task of designing the master-plan for the World Trade Center’s reconstruction.
In his video on Louisiana channel, he resembles the city of New York to a jungle; it is dangerous but beautiful. He admires the diversity of its people, with all the stories behind them. He, finally, describes it as a “complicated microcosm”; it has the whole world in it.
