Bionic Tower LAVA
‘ Bionics’ is a study of human and animal behavior that gets applied technologically. It implies a merge of the natural and the mechanical. Bionic Tower in Abu Dhabi does exactly that. It has an organic farm that is extremely regularized. The skin is the unifying element of all the different pieces that make up the tower. It is meant to imitate nature in this parts-to-whole sense, just as different components make up an ecosystem. Like in any system, the whole is only as efficient as its parts. Nature is also temporal, and the façade reacts to that. It is a responsive skin that adjusts to the outside environment. LAVA harnesses the natural factors at play as well as the technological advances of our time, producing an engineered lightness. Their endeavor to create an efficient building has created an organic and adaptive form. LAVA morphed the biological with the technology to achieve this design like no other seen before, and it will surely be an asset to our world, once completed
