German architects, BRUT Deluxe Architects, completed a temporal installation which is a series of lights located in Berlin, Germany and will be displayed until the 6th of January this year. On one of the most famous avenues in Berlin, Kurfürstendamm, is where the first light installation were placed.
The first of the series is a large light dome with a diameter of 7.5 meters. The second installation is located at Joachimstaler Platz, it is composed of five large light cubes at the intersection with Uhlandstrasse.
The last installation of the series is an artificial landscape composed of 50 light shrubs, located at Knesebechstrasse. The series of the three try to achieve the same effect of creating an atmosphere with them. Opposed to the ordinary decorations that represent the holidays through substance and symbols that are contemplated from the outside, the architects wanted to produce a space that can be entered and experienced.
They based this thesis of entered and experienced space with the imaginary clearance in a forest. They wanted to create a place of retreat in the city. The created environment surrounding the guests is fashioned only with light that change its mass and greatness relentlessly though the visitor’s progress and altering standpoint.
