Arquitectonica Designs New Hotel for Lake Nona Community

Tavistock Development Company has announced that international architecture firm Arquitectonica will design a new hotel in the heart of the Lake Nona community, in Orlando, Florida. The hotel will be located next to the Lawn, a vast outdoor green space in the town center, and close to the airport in order to serve the city’s 68 million visitors per year. It will comprise 16 floors which include 215 rooms and 6000 square feet of meeting space, part of which is a 3200-square-foot ballroom, fit for 200 guests.

The hotel is, also, meant to act as a social hub for Lake Nona by accommodating a 24-hour gym, a rooftop restaurant, and a bar, in addition to other retail and entertainment facilities.

“We are excited to be designing this new hotel in such a community as progressive as Lake Nona,” said Bernardo Fort-Brescia, principal of Arquitectonica. “Our goal is a building whose architecture represents the aspirations of this new town: fresh, vibrant, memorable, and of its place.”

The construction of the hotel is scheduled to begin next year, along with other residential and commercial development in the community which will cover up to 10 million square feet.
