The Architecture of Ancient Pyramids – Infographic

Did you know that there are ancient pyramids other than those in Egypt?

The ancient pyramids may be scattered in different regions around the world but they were built with no knowledge of each other. The architecture of the Pyramids never failed to challenge and baffle particularly archeologists and mostly everyone up to this day. Their greatness makes you curious to see them among These Ancient Sites Magically Get Restored by NeoMam. Mexico and Sudan, in addition to Egypt, have pyramids that are somewhat different from each other.

How did these ancient civilizations manage to build such huge structures without using the sophisticated equipment we have today to build skyscrapers? That is an enigma.

Who actually built the pyramids?

The egyptologists Zahi Hawass and Mark Lehner are sure the Egyptians built the pyramids. They believe they were built over different ruling eras of Egyptian god-kings. Each god-king has his own tripe of labor workers and there was some type of competition among them!

What were the ancient pyramids used for?

As pointed by the infographic, presented by History.com  and Column Five, the ancient pyramids were not solely built as tombs for kings. They were also places of worship and stellar observation.

Things weren’t bright and sunny all the way long for kings who tried to eternalize themselves through the pyramids. Previous failures at building such structures in Egypt made King Snefru (father of King Khufu – the owner of the Great Pyramid of Giza) succeed on his third attempt to build an ancient pyramid at Dahshur. It is called the Red Pyramid and it is considered to be the first “true pyramid”.
