Korean architectural firm Mass Studies has created Open Pavilion – Public Living Room as part of the 2010 Anyang Public Art Project. The pavilion was inspired by the traditional “jung-ja,” which serves as a resting and gathering place for the community.
Nestled inside a park and surrounded by trees, the Open Pavilion is also intended to be a place that encourages intimate social interaction.
The pavilion has 70 hammock-like seats that radiate from the center and bring people together in a stadium-like environment.
