Morgan EV3

The new zero emissions concept for a three wheeler vehicle is the Morgan EV3, from Morgan Motors. Based on the standart Morgan 3 Wheeler, the EV3 has a modern approach, with a touch of vintage. Maybe a little more than just a touch. The car has two seats, as its predecessor, with the main difference being the experience one could live driving it. Based in Worcestershire, UK, Morgan Motors has a long history with the three wheeled vehicles, but have only recently began exploring with electrical engines for their cars.

The EV3 is their second zero emissions concept, after the Plus E, yet the first one to go into production. It has “a single rear electric motor that provides 45kw of power” and is expected to ensure an about 150 miles drive. The battery can be recharged in four hours, it will allow a maximum of 80 mph speed. The vehicle weights with 25 kg more than the 450 kg standard version. The Morgan EV3 is “currently undertaking a full testing and development program and is expected to go into production towards the end of 2016”. The car was presented this June at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
