Vessel Series | Splinter Works

Vessel Series, British design studio Splinter Works had a dream of combining two ideal ‘zen’ spots: the hammock and the bathtub. Their idea came to life, with their Vessel series – a collection of designer bathing pieces. The bathtubs display many features. Their inviting smooth shape results from the tactility of the material- being carbon fiber- which also maintains a warm water temperature. Lightness is achieved both by the floating geometrical effect and by the material used. This unusual choice helped to create a bathtub of only 14 kilos, which can be placed in any room. Variations have been made to the Vessel series, so they can come in different colors or finishing materials.

The production of these objects requires the use of a giant autoclave – a technology primarily used in manufacturing Formula 1 cars – and the attention paid to details make for exquisite art works. If you love long baths and that technology-meets-design touch, than this is the perfect piece of display for your bathroom – of any other room of your choice!
