Fair Ground | Massimo Guidotti Architetto

Fair ground by Massimo Guidotti Architetto is a multi program project located in the Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto in Sicily, Italy. The program incorporates offices, shops, an auditorium, a bank, a post office, a hotel, a and a big event square. However, it’s main feature is a that it is a fair for nursery gardening.

It is clear through the project’s accessible green roof system that it places emphasis on sustainability and green spaces.

The firm describes the concept of fair ground as a place where “Dynamism [functions] as a metaphor of energy and innovation; green as a sign of respect towards new generations.”

The flow of the building is also highly expressive through its form. The stratification of rings distinguished the spaces and creates a movement from the center outside to the new park.
