Iran’s remarkable Mosques | Mohammed Domiri

This is how the inside of the Nasir Al-Mulk Mosque, located in Iran, looks like. Fortunately, photographer Mohammad Domiri documents the geometric wonder of Mosque architecture in Iran for viewers around the world. With a wide angle lens and a fisheye effect, Domiri travels around Iran to capture these wondrous Mosques and other architectural works.

We have to say that Domiri’s photographs are carefully balanced, showing precise symmetry of forms in the repeated geometry of religious architecture. These are not simple point-and-shoot photographs. Carefully composed frames show the balance in each photograph, and the subjects are exposed perfectly with light and color.

Mohammed said: “When I am capturing these pictures, I think about how they will be recorded and in future I hope people will be able to see their beauty.”

Due to their historic structures, many of these Mosques impose heavy restrictions on photography, making these photos like Domiri’s rare jewelry. Also the way he creates his mesmerizing works using an assortment of techniques such as panoramic shots and fish-eye lenses to ensure all of these details are captured.
